Advanced Radon Mitigation was founded in January 2008 by Josh Dickens of Dickens Plumbing and his wife, Crystal Dickens, a top-producing Realtor on Lake Gaston. 

Josh's family-owned plumbing company, Dickens Plumbing, has been providing new construction and plumbing repair service to the Lake Gaston area since 1994.  Crystal has been a top-producing Realtor on Lake Gaston since 2004.  The couple began to learn more about Radon in 2007 when they discovered  that more and more homes were being tested on Lake Gaston and turning up with elevated levels of radon.

Recognizing that Radon was a serious problem - the leading cause of lung cancer, next to smoking- and that there was no company filling the need for education, testing, and removal in this area, they decided to form Advanced Radon Mitigation.  

The company is certified by the National Radon Safety Board and is trained to interpret its own test results and to install radon reduction systems using the EPA’s Radon Mitigation Standards.
